EMEA Summit 2023 Wrap Up

On May 31, 2023, the TSPA hosted our inaugural EMEA Summit at The Gibson Hotel in Dublin, Ireland! This Summit brought together over 230 attendees from 16 different countries. Attendees came from near – local to Dublin or a short plane ride away – to afar – as far as Singapore to attend this event. With over 20 presenters, this one-day event was chock full of panel discussions, presentations and lightning talks, networking opportunities, and an engaging morning keynote with Siobhán Cummiskey, Director of Content Policy with Meta. More information on the agenda here

“The EMEA Summit offered a well balanced agenda with new issues and classic problems that focused on regulatory, policy and technical components. It was a great mix and well executed.” – EMEA Summit Attendee

The summit program was planned by an EMEA based planning committee who chose the theme “What Does It Look Like to Centre EMEA?” and identified two main goals. The first goal was to explore topics and issues that support and empower trust and safety practitioners and are relevant to their daily work, such as career pathing, wellness, emerging technologies, local regulation, and policy. The second goal was to generate connections and networking opportunities for trust and safety professionals in the region. It was a day of exploring trust and safety topics with subject matter experts, and connecting with industry peers. Participants had passionate discussions, shared insights, and even laughter, building a strong foundation for a shared community of practice.

“My creative mind is full of innovative ideas that are probably beyond ambitious but that’s what life in the T&S world is like. Never discourage a plethora of ideas but learn to focus on what’s feasible and share the rest for others to have a go.” – EMEA Summit Attendee

Thank you to all of the speakers, panelists, and experts who offered their time and knowledge to make our inaugural Summit a raving success. Their contributions to the excellent discussions are sure to inspire change across the trust and safety community.

In addition, as our staff is based in the United States, we would like to thank the EMEA Summit Planning Committee, volunteers, and TSPA Advisors who assisted TSPA in bringing this Summit to fruition. Their thoughtfulness, care, and support guided our success.

Finally, thank you to our sponsors – ActiveFence, Genpact, TaskUs, Teleperformance, Telus International, and Tremau – for their generous contributions. With their support, we were able to bring EMEA trust and safety professionals together.

So what’s next? We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our inaugural APAC Summit in Singapore in early October. Sign up for our newsletter for announcements for the call for proposals, sponsorship opportunities, and registration.
