APAC Summit 2023 Wrap Up

As the curtains close on the inaugural APAC Summit, it’s time to reflect on the whirlwind of inspiration and knowledge that filled the air during this event. The Summit, held in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District at the Amara Hotel, brought together over 240 participants from 17 different countries. All were driven by a common goal: to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build lasting connections and collaborations in their communities to shape the future of trust and safety.

The APAC Summit began with electrifying buzz, as attendees heard from keynote speaker, Arjun Narayan Bettadapur Manjunath, Head of Trust & Safety & Ops Excellence, SmartNews. Manjunath, whose experience spans over 20 years with several trust and safety teams, set the tone with an insightful address on the new trends that come with evolving technology like AI, a shift from reactive to proactive in light of regulation, and the critical need for in-region experts at the table to address increasingly localized threats. His words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the importance of fostering unity and collaboration in a rapidly changing world.

Throughout the day, 25+ breakout sessions explored topics ranging from wellness, leadership, and topical sessions like AI and scams. This year’s summit was planned by a committee of in-region practitioners, who chose the theme and sessions most critical to the APAC trust and safety community. Their contributions made all the difference to the success of this event, ensuring that the content is timely and relevant to this community. Take a peek at our agenda here if you want to know more about the topics that were covered. The day ended with a reception where participants were able to decompress, discuss, and digest all of the information that happened over the course of the day.

Thank you to the 40+ speakers for lending their time and knowledge as well as the APAC Summit Planning Committee for helping us shape the agenda for this event. We also want to send a special thank you to our sponsorsBooking.com, Genpact, TaskUs, and Teleperformance, for their generosity and investment in the trust and safety community.
