The Trust & Safety Professional Association (TSPA) is a 501(c)(6) non-partisan organization that supports the global community of professionals who develop and enforce principles and policies that define acceptable behavior and content online. We support trust and safety practitioners who do critically important work for the health of the Internet and society through networking, educational programming, and developing resources that benefit the trust and safety profession.

We are currently have an opening for a communications consultant for TrustCon.

TrustCon Communications Consultant

TrustCon is TSPA’s flagship annual conference. It is a global conference dedicated to trust and safety professionals who are responsible for the challenging work of keeping our platforms and communities safe. TrustCon, the only conference of its kind, is the culmination of TSPA’s vision to create and foster a global community of practice among trust and safety professionals.

About the Position

We are looking for a consultant who can support TrustCon’s communications needs. We anticipate we will need around 20-25 hours of support each month, from April through July. Ideally, we would like someone who can attend TrustCon from July 11-13, in San Francisco, CA. 

The communications consultant will be working on the following:

  • Help TSPA develop a media engagement strategy TrustCon and support the on-going promotion plan for TrustCon. 
  • Draft or edit communications about TrustCon for TSPA’s websites, social media, and other communication channels. 
  • Draft press release(s) for TrustCon. 
  • Develop a media toolkit for media and other stakeholders.
  • Manage on-site media (journalists) and internal communication promotion (TSPA photographer and videographer).
  • Other TrustCon communications as needed.

Qualifications

A successful candidate will be someone who has experience in media engagement and event marketing or public relations. The ideal candidate is someone who understands and has background in the nuance of communicating the practice of trust and safety.

Location

This is a remote position. Preference will be given to candidates in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a temporary position, and compensation will be an agreed-upon hourly or at a project rate with no additional benefits.
