Passing the Torch: Introducing Del Harvey as TSPA Board Chair

Hands holding sparklers

After 5 years of serving as the TSPA Board chair, Adelin Cai will be stepping down as Board Chair, and we are thrilled to share that Del Harvey will be taking over as Board Chair. Adelin, who is one of the founders of TSPA, along with the rest of the TSPA Board, has been critical in TSPA’s creation, development, and growth; and we can’t wait to see what Del has in store in leading the Board, TSPA, and our community.

Read on for notes from Adelin and Del.

Hello TSPA Friends,

I am beyond excited to share that Del Harvey will be taking the reins and leading the TSPA Board to greater heights as its new Board Chair. Her commitment to advancing the careers of trust and safety professionals is imprinted on the lives of so many, mine included.

Del is a trust and safety pioneer and legend who has made an outsized impact on the T&S community. Del founded, built, and led the global T&S team at Twitter for its first 13 years, and has continued to be an advisor to and coach for T&S leaders and professionals. When TSPA was founded in 2020, we tried our best to ensnare Del into a formal role on the Board but the timing wasn’t quite right due to scheduling and life priorities.

Behind the scenes, however, Del was always generously available whenever we needed her. Last year, the stars and schedules aligned and we were finally able to formally vote Del onto the Board. In many ways, her vision for trust and safety is embedded in our mission. It is fitting that her legacy continues in driving the future of TSPA. I am so thrilled to be passing the baton to Del.

It’s been an honor to serve you all, and I look forward to continuing to serve on the TSPA Board under Del’s capable and expert leadership.

Onwards,

Adelin

Hello TSPA community!

I’m honored to be stepping into the role of Chair of the TSPA Board and deeply grateful to Adelin for both her extraordinary leadership over the past five years and for continuing to serve on the Board as we move into this next chapter.

Although much has changed in Trust & Safety over the years, one thing has remained constant: the importance of being part of a community that understands the work, shares the load, and works to build stronger systems for those who come next. TSPA is one of the few organizations focused squarely on supporting the practitioners, leaders, and teams doing the hard, often unseen, work of T&S. Whether by advocating for the profession, creating space for learning and connection, or helping members navigate their careers, TSPA plays a critical role in making this work more sustainable and this field more cohesive.

I’m excited for what’s ahead, both for TSPA and for the broader Trust & Safety community, and grateful for the opportunity to help carry that work forward and ensure TSPA remains a source of resilience, sustainability, and momentum for our field. I look forward to learning and building with all of you.

With appreciation,

Del
