Trust & Safety Coffee Chats

Trust & Safety Coffee Chats are one-on-one conversations designed to provide mentorship to current and aspiring trust and safety professionals. Hosts are volunteering their time and expertise to offer advice to job seekers and T&S professionals.

How It Works:

• Search for a host based on what you want to talk about.
• Sign-up using the host’s “Schedule a chat” button.
• Come prepared with questions and have a specific goal in mind.

Friendly Reminders:

• Be respectful of our hosts and their time. If you book time with a host, please show up or cancel the booking in advance if the time no longer works for you.
• The TSPA Code of Conduct applies to all resources, spaces, and programming, even if you’re not a TSPA member.
• If you’re just getting started in T&S and want to learn more, we recommend reviewing Careers in T&S and the T&S Curriculum before scheduling.
• Hosts are not conducting formal interviews, offering referrals, providing product feedback, participating in interviews and/or user research, and/or acting on behalf of their employers or TSPA. If you schedule time and you’re not a current or aspiring T&S professional, a host reserves the right to cancel the appointment without notice.
• Double check the time zone when booking. Our hosts are located all over the globe.

An expert in online child safety, privacy, and age-appropriate design, Vaishnavi has held significant roles in the tech industry. She was previously the head of youth policy at Meta,  supporting age-appropriate design across Instagram, Facebook, VR, and messaging services. She previously led Twitter’s video content policies, was their first head of safety in APAC, and served as Google’s central child safety policy lead for APAC. Vaishnavi is a recognized commentator on youth and technology, featured across BBC, NPR, CNN, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Rolling Stone. Outside of work, Vaishnavi serves on the board of directors at the Integrity Institute, the board of advisors at the Sustainable Media Center, and is a working group member of the Generative Identity Initiative at the Institute for Security and Technology.

My focus has always been on the future, anticipating the needs of the industry and architecting solutions and building programs to address the evolving needs of technology and humanity at large. In the recent past, I have been focused on fostering the right partnership between human intuition and AI. Evolving not just the capabilities of AI but also systemically transforming a workforce that is professionally skilled to adapt to the new ways of collaborating with AI and is super-specialized.
