Mis/dis and mal-information: Who-why and its effects and effectiveness

In this panel, we will be discussing the differences between mis/dis and mal-information, and exploring the following questions: What do the authors hope to achieve? How mis/dis and mal-information is seeded and disseminated. What is the role of social media platforms, state, non-state, sub-state, and corporate actors. Is mis/dis and mal-information a part of a strategy or doctrine for some nation-states. For these states, is it a form of covert action, active measures or ‘gray zone’ hybrid warfare?
