Human Oversight in AI for Public Benefits

Hosted by Center for Democracy & Technology
As government agencies increasingly incorporate Artificial Intelligence tools in their work providing public benefits, there are challenging questions about when and where these systems are appropriate. But even in the simplest context, AI requires smart, strategic, effective human oversight.
To assist public administrators in tackling this emerging challenge, CDT partnered with the Benefits Tech Advocacy Hub to develop best practices for an effective and inclusive human oversight framework. Join them on Tuesday, December 2 to discuss what meaningful human oversight should look like and best practices for doing it well, including developing an inclusive view of who should be engaged in oversight and when, creating conditions that enable effective oversight, and allocating necessary resources in terms of people, time, and money to support meaningful oversight.
