This year reminded us just how unsteady the world can feel, and still, our community shows up. Like birds in a V formation, we take turns facing the headwinds, offering each other rest, support, job leads, and space to navigate hard questions. This work has always required resilience, a hint of defiance, but we fly further when we fly together.
In its third year, the 2025 APAC Summit brought with it clear momentum for trust & safety professionals in the region.
One thing that TrustCon illustrated this year is that during challenging times, the answer is to come together – for yourself and for each other. Despite a year besieged with economic, political, and travel uncertainty, this was our strongest TrustCon yet – perhaps because of these reasons. We came together stronger than ever, sharing ideas,
TrustCon marks the midpoint of the TSPA year. I sometimes joke that the week after TrustCon feels like the week after my wedding did – after so many months of planning, you wake up and find you have time to actually breathe and reflect. The past several months have been marked by broad changes across our industry, unexpected challenges, and evolving demands on our work and our lives. But through it all, one constant has sustained us: our community.
After 5 years of serving as the TSPA Board chair, Adelin Cai will be stepping down as Board Chair, and we are thrilled to share that Del Harvey will be taking over as Board Chair. Adelin, who is one of the founders of TSPA, along with the rest of the TSPA Board, has been critical in TSPA’s creation, development, and growth; and we can’t wait to see what Del has in store in leading the Board, TSPA, and our community.
On behalf of the Trust and Safety Professional Association, we would like to thank each and every attendee that traveled both locally and internationally for this year’s 2025 EMEA Summit. With over 245+ attendees, 66 speakers, 5 exhibitors, representing over 100 companies, this conference continues to exemplify the dynamic nature of trust and safety across regions and importance of bringing this group together. This was also the first time that we introduced the TSPA Member Professional Day, which brought together 40+ attendees for a half-day of focused workshops. We hope that you found the content, connections, and themes to be both informative and inspiring.
This year, we had an incredible group of 17 trust and safety practitioners from across the EMEA region come together as a Programme Committee to craft an event for the community, by the community. TSPA’s Programme Committee members volunteer their time and expertise to ensure that the EMEA Summit offers the best possible programming. The committee not only helps to select the overall theme for the summit, but they help prioritize topics that are critical to T&S professionals working in the region to create a strong agenda for everyone in attendance.
As we kick off planning here at TSPA for our regional summits, we convene a Programme Committee of Trust & Safety practitioners to join us in collaboration to shape the event. This includes assisting with theme selection, curating sessions, and advising on regional speakers. We’ve asked a few of this year’s committee members—Aderinsola Aribaba, Nikhil Bhasin, and Ailís Daly—to join us in reflecting on the EMEA Summit 2025 theme and give some advice for those planning to attend.
I’m writing to you in the darkest week of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. In many workplaces around the world, things are winding down before the holidays and people are looking forward to a bit of respite and quiet before entering the new year. Even in these shortest days, we know the sun will steadily return, bringing longer days and new beginnings.
