TrustCon 2022 Volunteer Application

TrustCon is the first global conference dedicated to serving trust and safety professionals. At TSPA, our vision is to build a community of practice among trust and safety professionals and provide support as they do the challenging work of keeping our platforms safe. TrustCon is the culmination of TSPA’s vision to create a community of practice for trust and safety, develop an enduring and supportive network for these professionals, provide support as they do the challenging work of keeping our platforms safe, and advance the trust and safety field. In 2022, we will be hosting TrustCon in Palo Alto, CA. We will also have virtual programs for Americas, APAC, and EMEA.

We’re seeking conference volunteers for both our in-person program in Palo Alto and our virtual programs. Conference volunteers will be an essential part in the organization of TrustCon. They’ll play a major role in executing structural tasks, especially during the conference at Palo Alto.

In-person conference volunteers will be invited to:

  • Welcome TrustCon attendees and answer basic questions from attendees;
  • Provide registration support;
  • Serve as time-keepers for lightning talks, presentations, and panel discussions;
  • Serve as room moderators, assisting speakers with set-up and checking badges to ensure attendees meet the entry requirements of a given session;
  • Monitor a shared email alias, sending updates to attendees and responding to questions;
  • Other in-person conference support, as needed.

TSPA will provide in-person conference volunteers with:

  • A virtual orientation session;
  • A messaging app (TBD) for communication;
  • A map of the venue;
  • A run of the show;
  • Contacts for relevant staff, vendors, and hotel;
  • A break/recharge room;
  • Refreshments (i.e., coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, food).

Virtual conference volunteers will be invited to:

  • Monitor chat during virtual sessions;
  • Escalate technical issues to B Line, the vendor supporting TrustCon;
  • Other virtual conference support, as needed.

TSPA will provide virtual conference volunteers with:

  • A virtual orientation session;
  • A messaging app (TBD) for communication;
  • A run of the show;
  • Contacts for relevant staff, vendors, and hotel.

In-person conference volunteers will be expected to work five hours per day for each day of the conference, and virtual conference volunteers will be expected to work four hours per day for each day of the virtual program. In recognition of their service, volunteers will receive free registration for the virtual or in-person program, whichever program for which they are volunteering. For in-person program volunteers, TSPA will provide accommodations for volunteers who are not local and transportation reimbursements for local volunteers.

Note: We are no longer accepting applications for TrustCon 2022.
