Why this topic?

Digital safety work poses unique challenges and risks. Exposure to trauma and systemic overwhelm can and will impact individuals, teams, and safety organizations in predictable ways. Resilience starts with building a shared understanding of these realities. This allows us to engage with our work and our workplaces from a more educated and empowered position.

What to expect?

In this trauma-informed and experiential workshop we will:

  • Define the core concept of Trauma Exposure Responses (TER)
  • Describe the impact of Systemic Overwhelm
  • Share vignettes to illustrate common responses to trauma and overwhelm in individuals and systems
  • Operationalize the core concept of Resilience for people and systems
  • Explore one essential way resilience can be built at an individual and systems-level

For over a decade, The Workplace Wellness Project (TWWP) has been the industry leader in partnering with individuals and teams to foster resilience in response to the impact of trauma and overwhelm that comes with digital safety work. We believe that the people and teams taking up this work deserve to be healthy and supported to thrive in their jobs and beyond. As trauma-informed and resilience-oriented coaches and consultants, it’s our mission to educate and empower people and teams with the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to the unavoidable costs of caring.
