🔨 What you’ll do:
• Define, clarify, draft and implement principled content policies for the entire Yik Yak platform
• Analyze Yik Yak’s existing current policy to identify any gaps or areas of improvement including drafting policies, building out enforcement and escalation pathways, and regularly updating Yik Yak’s leadership team on the mapped-out approach to addressing challenging issues
• Point of contact for all policy issues such as working with our law enforcement and legal teams in regards to content that violates Yik Yak’s policy
• Leverage and collaborate with public affairs and government relations, media and crisis communications teams, corporate and social responsibility leads and legal counsel to ensure for policy adheres to current needs
• Monitor the effectiveness of the current policy and the need for new policy formulation based on recent trends and new tactics, techniques, and patterns of problematic content and then identify and execute data-driven research and risk assessments to allow for any modification of current policy
• Lead knowledge management for the Trust and Safety team by organizing, creating, and sharing collective knowledge through codified policy
• Assist moderation manager in providing comprehensive and ongoing training on policy
• Assist in the building, management and scaling of systems that monitor policy within Yik Yak
• Work with the user experience team to problem solve and trouble shoot user’s policy issues
• Assist in the development of quarterly Transparency Reports
• Ensure that Yik Yak’s policies adhere to current regulations and legal needs and fit with the cultural environments within any new country Yik Yak were to launch

👋 Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong affinity for Yik Yak and local community
• Bachelor’s degree in policy, policy enforcement, law, or public affairs or equivalent experience
• 5+ years moderation/legal/policy/communications experience or other related field
• Strong editorial background and writing skills
• Ability to make clear decisions and communicate an action plan despite nuanced content and challenging situations
• Strong ability to identify, analyze and strategically solve problems and then communicate results
• Ability to remain neutral and review work as defined by the Community Guardrails while keeping personal bias aside
• Passion for ensuring the safety and health of the Yik Yak community
• Capability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities
• Ability to work remotely
• Flexibility to work evenings, holidays and weekends, as needed

🚀 Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with content management tools
• Understanding of legal process and government relations
• Experience with confidential information collection and management
• Quick learner and adaptable to learn new processes, concepts, and skills
