Checkin is Peer to Peer Life Support.  Checkin is a place where your lived experience and empathy are exactly what someone needs.
Checkins are 1-on-1, recurring, 30-minute video chats where members who’ve been through something support others who are going through it. It’s not therapy, and people aren’t expected to have the answers – just a listening ear.
We’re looking for a Trust & Safety Lead to define and implement a comprehensive Trust & Safety strategy including Customer Support. This role will operate as the subject matter expert for handling community-related Trust & Safety issues. The ideal candidate will have experience or desire for building and implementing policy at scale, especially in a marketplace type of platform.

Cash compensation range: initially $70k – $90k, benefits, plus meaningful early stage equity alongside founders with impeccable track record of past startup success.

You will

      • Design and build our Trust & Safety strategy and team
      • Create and maintain Community Guidelines and policies to promote a safe experience for all members of our platform
      • Have ownership over Intercom help center and work with our guide experience teams to ensure an excellent user experience
      • Coordinate Trust & Safety activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies
      • Create and work directly with a Trust & Safety Advisory Council comprised of experts in the field

Qualifications

    • 3+ years experience in Trust/Safety, Content Moderation, Fraud, Abuse, Compliance, or equivalent field
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal oversight
    • Able to focus and manage ambiguity in a high-growth environment
    • Experience with high-risk fields, such as mental health and safety
    • Experience in public-facing communications to users
    • Experience with Intercom a plus
