Job Overview:
- Organize and lead investigations into high harm extremism activities, and produce actionable intelligence for threat mitigation options
- Apply extensive experience and expertise to provide recommendations for investigation priorities, strategies, and threat mitigation options
- Develop new tools and dashboards to enhance capabilities related to threat investigation and proactive detection of extremism activity
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship for more junior level extremism specialists to scale the team’s knowledge of how to recognize, disrupt and deter harmful extremism activities on the platform
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience with investigating extremist actors and long term analysis of geopolitical trends for specific regions
- Expert knowledge of a diverse range of extremism communities and prioritizing risks related to them
- Expert familiarity with threat intelligence research and leveraging OSINT to proactively identify and pursue investigation leads
- Expert familiarity with contributing to professional threat intelligence exchange groups and law enforcement partnership
- Eg. GIFCT, Tech Against Terrorism, etc.
- Strong familiarity with SQL and data analysis to build dashboards and conduct investigatory queries for proactive efforts and incident response triage scenarios
- Strong self-management and analytical skills for navigating ambiguous investigation scenarios
- Experience with working closely with cross-discipline teams to solve complex problems (eg. Eng teams, Data/ML teams, Policy teams)
- Experience navigating a fast-moving and rapidly-scaling environment
- Experience with contributing to crisis response
