Meta is looking for a temporary Safety Policy Manager to work on safety and well-being policy issues specific to minors on our services.

The Safety Policy Manager will partner with the broader Safety Policy Team and other cross-functional teams, including product teams, at Facebook to identify and address safety and well-being issues specific to minors on our services and provide related expert guidance.

Work will include helping develop policies, tools, resources and initiatives to address youth specific safety and well-being issues; providing product guidance and building partnerships to help advance youth safety and well-being on our services; identifying, monitoring and responding to relevant legislative and regulatory issues; and helping formulate effective responses to youth safety and well-being related inquiries from various stakeholders.

Candidates should be dedicated, detail oriented, creative, resourceful, analytical, and knowledgeable about tech policy and online safety, have a strong work ethic and superior presenting skills, and have experience in working at the intersection of policy and product.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert resource and partner for the Global Safety Policy team, the broader Public Policy team and key cross-functional teams
  • Support youth safety and well-being external stakeholder engagement strategy to support various internal teams, including Safety Policy, Content Policy and product teams
  • Provide expert analysis and guidance to teams involved in the policy mission to aid in strategic planning, analyzing and responding to youth related legislative and regulatory initiatives, developing safety related policy programs
  • Help develop and support policymaker engagement strategy in collaboration with Public Policy team with regard to youth safety and well-being issues
  • In collaboration with broader Safety Policy Team develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with NGOs, academic experts and other stakeholders in support of all the work above
  • Work cross functionally to elevate external knowledge and understanding of all the work being done to ensure the safety and well-being of youth on our services and online broadly
  • Willingness to travel and to handle calls during different time zones
