The Threat Disruption team provides expert scaled investigative support into inauthentic accounts and behaviour on the platform. Our objective is to increase the costs to bad actors for manipulating the platform and mitigate associated harm.

What You’ll Do

The Elections team at X is responsible for developing policy, product, and enforcement solutions to a wide range of challenges related to civic information integrity. We’re committed to ensuring everyone who uses the platform can find credible information about the issues that matter to them. You’ll be responsible for developing and working with a growing team to implement a policy and product strategy across a wide range of election and information integrity issues.

The team will be responsible for analyzing the key parameters of an election, conducting an assessment of the risks, working with the team and stakeholders to mitigate the harms on the platform under relevant policies, and proposing ways we can be more efficient and effective in protecting the integrity of civic conversations on the platform.

● Lead a multidisciplinary and multinational global team responsible for elections and information integrity

● Guide team strategy, policy development, and enforcement using deep domain expertise, research, and a keen understanding of how these issues play out on the platform.

● Investigate novel information integrity challenges, working closely with specialists across Threat Disruption to build a comprehensive understanding of key issues, threat actors, and trends in malicious behavior.

● Direct rapid response efforts by teams across the company to mitigate information integrity related challenges around critical public events.

● Partner with Twitter’s Product and Engineering organizations to help craft a holistic approach to information integrity across product, policy, investigations, and enforcement.

● Mentor elections analysts and help develop the global Elections team.

What you bring to X

● You have a deep understanding of online safety, privacy, and freedom of expression, with experience related to information integrity and elections.

● You are passionate about understanding and combating threats to online conversational health, and aren’t afraid of tackling high-impact problems at massive scale.

● You have an entrepreneurial mentality and are flexible, self-starting, self-motivated, and hard-working.

● You are a problem-solver and collaborator; you can craft and execute on a vision while working cross-functionally.

● You actively recognize needs, tackle problems, anticipate issues, and develop solutions.

● You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and adapting to the needs and work styles of other teams and organizations.

Requirements:

● Proven experience (5+ years) working on relevant issues (online safety, security, information integrity, and/or content policy), particularly elections and civic integrity

Assets:

● Experience at an Internet or Technology Company

● Fluency in official languages of the EU

● Experience using SQL and relational databases in your work.

● Ability to use Python, R, or another scripting language to facilitate scaled data analysis.
