Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of work experience designing and developing multiple learning assets (e.g., eLearning and instructor-led training courses, job aids, facilitator guides, visualization, etc.).
  • Experience building learning content in Evolve and/or Storyline.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience deploying courses to Exceed learning management system (LMS).
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying new hire and learning programs for vendor audiences.
  • Ability to manage projects and advance activities across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles and best practices.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. As a Child Safety Instructional Designer, you will contribute to all aspects of training for an audience of Trust and Safety Child Safety Content Moderators (e.g., the design and development of content, e-learning and Instructor-Led Training (ILT) courses, job aids, facilitator guides, visualizations, etc). You will work under compressed deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment that demands flexibility, high quality, and creativity. You will partner with a wide range of stakeholders (i.e., a dedicated content development team to design and deliver exceptional training solutions).

You will use adult learning principles to develop Google’s training programs by assessing needs, identifying learning objectives, designing curricula, and coordinating rollout to stakeholders all over the world. Whether in-person, self-paced, or blended, these scalable programs can take any form and need to translate for participants across various backgrounds, levels, and regions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Curriculum Manager to conduct needs analyses, build relationships with Subject Matter Experts, stakeholders, and users to ensure program success.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Trust and Safety Scaled Operations, Trusted Experience, Policy, and Service Delivery teams to develop learning solutions.
  • Identify desired cross-functional learning and performance objectives, ensuring that objectives measure observable changes to knowledge, skills, behaviors, or attitudes.
  • Apply creativity, problem solving, and inclusive design principles to design, develop, quality assurance, and publish innovative and scalable digital and blended learning solutions to meet user and business needs, ensuring they are accessible for a global audience.
  • Contribute to the design of the overall learning experience and advocate for appropriate learning solutions based on adult learning theory and instructional design best practices. Be exposed to disturbing or offensive content during the process.
