Facebook seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Associate General Counsel, Safety & Integrity. The position will report to the Director & Associate General Counsel, Safety. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
Associate General Counsel, Safety & Integrity Responsibilities
  • Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on legal obligations related to online safety and integrity issues, including, but not limited to, child safety and human exploitation (e.g., sex trafficking, human smuggling, domestic servitude, illegal adoption), terrorism & violent extremism, scams and fraud
  • Develop and implement global policies relating to safety and integrit
  • Champion safety & integrity by design in product development
  • Support Legal and Public Policy teams’ engagement with regulators and legislators on safety issues
  • Collaborate with members of Public Policy, Communications, Legal, Global Operations, Product, Engineering, Compliance and others on safety and integrity matters
Minimum Qualifications
  • JD degree or foreign equivalent and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 8+ years of legal experience, including government, in-house and/or law firm experience advising technology companies
  • Litigation experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Safety NGOs such as NCMEC and industry trade associations
  • Experience with the Stored Communications Act, 18 USC §2258A, SESTA-FOSTA, CDA 230 and other user generated content-based regulations
  • Direct experience working with U.S. law enforcement authorities
