Building off of the September 2022 Trust and Safety Conference at Stanford University, this conference explores a new generation of tech products that offer design affordances and algorithms optimized for maximizing pro-social content. Designing tech for civil health or social cohesion expands the repertoire of Trust and Safety approaches. This conference provides a professional development opportunities to 1) advance understanding of how to depolarize digital public spheres; 2) Learn from practitioners using tech platforms to build trust across divides; 3) Identify digital methods for measuring polarization and social cohesion; and 4) Network with social cohesion, bridge building, and peacebuilding practitioners and experts.
